The hollest wave in Ericeira — a fast, intense right over a very shallow reef. The most competitive spot in the area. Not for the faint-hearted. Best at mid tide on a consistent NW swell.
Autumn is the queen season. Winter brings the big sessions, spring stays very quality.

Direct access from the beach, but mind the rocky bottom. Wetsuit + booties recommended, do not surf at low tide.

Cave is rather recommended for advanced surfers. If you're a beginner, prefer a surf school, a small swell and a suitable tide, or look for a more sheltered nearby spot.
The ideal wind at Cave comes broadly from East: it's offshore, which helps shape and hold the waves. A strong onshore wind generally degrades conditions.
